pattern to volume, pattern and object design, 2025
inspired by construction sites, this project transforms architectural patterns and structures from 2D graphics into 3D objects.

transforming patterns into spatial forms

[ 2d to 3d ] from construction to object

inspired by construction sites and industrial scaffolding, this project explores the transformation of architectural elements into functional objects. by analyzing structural frameworks, grid systems, and geometric compositions found in construction sites, i extracted key design motifs and translated them into three-dimensional forms. through parametric modeling and material experimentation, i developed a series of objects that capture the essence of industrial structures while adapting them for interior use. each form originates from a 2d architectural reference, evolving through systematic variation into sculptural yet functional pieces. the resulting objects serve as decorative and utilitarian pieces, bridging the gap between architecture and product design. by reinterpreting rigid industrial structures into soft, tactile, and expressive forms, this project challenges conventional material perceptions and expands the dialogue between construction and craft.
